Description
The QuantumLeap is the first laboratory X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) with synchrotron-like performance to provide critical information on oxidation states, bond lengths and interatomic distances, electron symmetry, and more. Specific performance parameters:
- XANES can be provided at sub-eV energy resolution on the range of minutes to an hour
- EXAFS at high throughput in seconds to minutes
- Wide energy coverage range for analysis of a broad range of elements
- MicroXANES at 100 micron spot size
The system enables cutting-edge research, including:
- Catalysts: chemical states of oxides, nitrides, and carbides; size of clusters
- Batteries/fuel cells/solar cells: oxidation state of transition metals (e.g. in lithium ion batteries) as a function of charge and discharge cycles
- Nanoparticles: characterization of structure, size, and composition
